1954 Letter From Herbert Hoover to the Editor of Collier's Magazine, Edward Anthony "it was the dullest and most unemotional subject I have ever tried to deal with."
In this letter Herbert Hoover sends a short note to the editor of Collier's magazine regarding a speech Hoover had recently given, probably about the second Hoover Commission federal reorganization work under President Dwight D. Eisenhower which had commenced a year earlier in 1953 and ended a year later in 1955. Collier's magazine had a large circulation at the time of the letter and both the salutation ("dear Ed") and signature ("H. H.") show that Hoover had friendly relations with the editor of that leading publication. Government reorganization is a dull and unemotional topic and that explains Hoover's statement in the letter. The picture above is cropped a bit to eliminate the copious borders, but the entire letter is in nice condition and measures 10 1/2 by 7 1/8 inches. Price $175
