1850s Hand Colored Stone Lithographs of Birds of the West Arctic Bluebird
This is a beautifully colored bluebird. On the top margin this print says "U. S. P. R. R. Exp. & Surveys --- 38th, 39th, 41st Parallels" and "Birds - -- Plate XXXV." A small excerpt from the Pacific Railroad Survey report attached to the back of the matted print says "Entirely blue; plaer benneath; the belly and under tail converts white" and appears to indicate that it was captured in Cochetope Pass, which is in Colorado. Below is the lithograph as it will come to you matted and in a protective clear plastic sleeve.
