This original 1891 Sir Leslie Ward "Spy" print from Vanity Fair is of Colonel Herbert Eaton in his uniform with sword, spurs and riding crop with the stiff bearing of a proper officer.

The contemporary biography of Colonel Eaton by Jehu Junior provided with the print explain the origin of his nickname and concludes with his reason for still being in uniform:

At twenty he joined the Grenadiers, and going to Dublin was by his brother officers called "Brown" - a name by which he has been known ever since.....He had a narrow escape from degenerating into a politician four years ago, when he was only save from becoming a Tory Member of Parliament by sixteen gallant Coventry voters."

This print comes already matted to a standard 16 x 20" frame size so it will be easy and inexpensive to frame and is enclosed in a protective plastic sleeve (which produces a ripple effect in the picture below).
