1870 and 1871 Winslow Homer Rare Wood Engravings Published In Every Saturday In 1870 and 1871 Winslow Homer was near the peak of his powers in drawing genre scenes that captured the essence of America. At that time he was employed by the Boston publication Every Saturday to do a variety of works to be published in that weekly illustrated journal. Every Saturday had a much smaller circulation than Harper's Weekly and had a much shorter publishing history, so many fewer were preserved. As a result, these treasured works of Winslow Homer are in short supply and are harder to find.
