Title: Denmark: Unconquered, Though Captive
Comments: This wonderful Danish World War
II poster features the Art Deco Grundtvig Church in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Church was designed by the Danish architect P.V. Jensen-Klint in 1922
who based the design in part on a style of ecclesiastical architecture
that used stepped gable ends common during the Middle Ages.
The title of the poster derives from the fact that when the Nazis
invaded Denmark in 1940 there was no opposition and no battles, so Denmark
technically was not conquered, just captive.
This is apparently a very rare poster, I have not seen it before and
could not find it on any of the major poster dealers' web sites.
